MCIOB stands for Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, one of the world’s oldest and most respected professional bodies in the built environment sector. Join CIOB as a Student or Associate member
Register at ciob.org. Student membership is available while studying. Associates are those with significant experience but not yet full member status.
Gain 5 years in a relevant construction management role
Experience must include responsibilities aligned with CIOB’s eight core competency areas, including site safety, contract management, and leadership.
Prepare your membership application
Submit a Career Development Record (CDR) demonstrating competency evidence, plus two references from senior professionals (one CIOB member preferred).
Attend your professional review interview
