What Overseas Experience Gets You

It signals exposure to larger organisations, higher service standards, and diverse working environments. Salary Adjustment: Setting Realistic Expectations

This is the hardest part of the conversation. A nurse earning £35,000 in the NHS will face a significant pay cut if returning to a J$2M–J$3.5M government nursing role — equivalent to roughly £12,000–£15,000 at current exchange rates. An IT professional earning C$85,000 in Canada may find comparable Jamaican roles paying J$4M–J$6M (C$26,000–C$38,000). The adjustment is real. Qualification Recognition

Most UK, USA, and Canadian professional qualifications are recognised in Jamaica either directly or with a conversion process. Tax and Financial Considerations
