Salesforce Certified Administrator
The Salesforce Certified Administrator credential is the definitive entry point into the world’s #1 CRM platform — and one of the fastest pathways to a well-paid tech career in Jamaica. With Salesforce deployed across Jamaica’s BPO sector, financial services, and insurance industry, certified administrators are in consistent demand throughout Kingston and Montego Bay.
What Is the Salesforce Certified Administrator?
The Salesforce Certified Administrator (commonly called “Salesforce Admin”) is the foundational professional credential issued by Salesforce for individuals who configure, manage, and support the Salesforce platform within an organisation. Administrators are responsible for managing user accounts, customising the platform, building automation, creating reports and dashboards, and ensuring data quality across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud environments.
Salesforce is the world’s leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, and its footprint in Jamaica is growing rapidly. Multinationals operating call centres and BPO operations in Jamaica — including Sutherland, Alorica, Concentrix, and Teleperformance — frequently deploy Salesforce for case management, customer service, and sales pipeline management. Jamaica’s insurance sector (Sagicor, JN Insurance, Mayberry) and banking sector (NCB, Scotiabank) use Salesforce to manage customer relationships, cross-sell products, and track sales activities.
The Salesforce Administrator exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions (plus up to 5 unscored pilot questions) and must be completed within 105 minutes. A passing score of 65% is required. The exam covers six domains: Configuration & Setup (20%), Object Manager & Lightning App Builder (20%), Sales & Marketing Applications (12%), Service & Support Applications (11%), Productivity & Collaboration (7%), Data & Analytics Management (14%), and Workflow/Process Automation (16%).

Salesforce releases three major updates per year (Spring, Summer, Winter). Each release triggers a short maintenance module on Trailhead that you must complete to keep your certification active. These are free and typically take 30–60 minutes each.
CPD & Maintenance Requirements
Salesforce certifications do not expire by date — instead, they are maintained through a unique system of release maintenance modules. Three times per year, Salesforce publishes a maintenance module on Trailhead covering new features in that release that affect admins. Certified admins must complete each module to remain certified. Failure to complete a maintenance module within the deadline results in the certification becoming inactive.
- Spring Release maintenance module — typically due in April
- Summer Release maintenance module — typically due in August
- Winter Release maintenance module — typically due in December
- All modules are free and completed on Trailhead
- Inactive certifications can be reactivated by completing all outstanding modules
Jamaican Salesforce professionals should also join the Salesforce Trailblazer Community, attend Salesforce World Tours (available virtually), and consider joining or forming a local Trailblazer Community Group in Kingston to network with other certified professionals.
