How to Obtain — Step by Step

Complete Strong CSEC Grades
Biology, chemistry, mathematics, and English are the essential foundation subjects for pharmacy school entry.

Apply for the B.Pharm Programme at UTech Jamaica
UTech Jamaica is the primary route; recognised overseas schools (US, UK, Canada, Cuba) are also accepted by PCJ.

Complete 4 Years of Pharmacy Education
Including clinical rotations in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and clinical settings throughout the degree.

Complete 1 Year of Supervised Internship
At a PCJ-approved pharmacy facility in Jamaica — a mandatory requirement before sitting the qualifying examination.

Pass the PCJ Qualifying Examination
The qualifying examination tests pharmaceutical science, clinical knowledge, and Jamaican pharmacy law and ethics.

Register with the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica
Obtain your annual practising certificate. Renewal is required each year with evidence of CPD compliance.
