How to Obtain the CRME
The CRME is recommended for professionals with at least 2 years of revenue management experience in hospitality. Begin your career in a revenue analyst, front office, or reservations role to build foundational knowledge of hotel operations and pricing.
HSMAI offers the Revenue Management Study Guide and online learning modules through its website. The HSMAI Foundation’s Revenue Management study guide is the primary resource — covering all exam content areas including pricing, forecasting, distribution, and analytics.
Most candidates prepare for 2–4 months while working full-time. Focus areas include: demand forecasting methodologies, pricing strategy, channel distribution management, revenue analytics, and competitive intelligence. Practice with STR report analysis and case studies.
Register through the HSMAI website (hsmai.org). The exam is delivered online and proctored. It tests knowledge across all revenue management competency areas. The exam fee includes access to study resources. Exam can be taken remotely from Jamaica.
CRME certification must be renewed every 2 years through continuing education credits. HSMAI conferences, webinars, and industry events all qualify. Jamaica’s Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) events may also qualify as CPD.
