Role Overview
Events Coordinators in Jamaica plan and execute a wide range of events — destination weddings (a major revenue stream for resorts), corporate conferences, promotional activations, government functions and private parties. They work within hotel events departments, at standalone event venues, for event management companies, or independently as freelance planners.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Path
A degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing or Business is typical, though strong practical experience and a portfolio carry significant weight. The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation from the Events Industry Council is increasingly valued for corporate work. Many events professionals start as event assistants or in hotel operations before specialising.
