Protective Services Officers (PTSG/PX) provide security and protective services at Jamaica’s government ministries, offices, state facilities and official residences. The three-grade series spans Pay Bands 2–5, from entry-level security guards at PX 1 through to senior protective services supervisors at PX 3. These are civil service security positions distinct from the Jamaica Constabulary Force and Jamaica Defence Force.

Qualifications & Entry Requirements
- PX 1: 4 CXC passes including English; HEART Level 1 in Security Services; clean police record
- PX 2: 2–3 years security experience; supervisory aptitude
- PX 3: 4+ years in security including supervisory experience
- Security guard licence from PSRA may be required; physical fitness requirements apply
- First Aid certification valued
