What is a Government IT Officer in Jamaica’s Civil Service?

Government IT Officers sit within the Management Information Services Group (MIS), specifically the Information Technology series (MIS/IT). With nine grades spanning Pay Bands 2-13, this is one of the broadest career ladders in the public sector – from IT Support Technicians at IT 1 right up to Chief Information Officers at IT 9. The rapid digitalisation of government services has made IT expertise more valuable than ever.
