What is a Government Information Officer?

Government Information Officers in the MCG/IE (Information and Editorial) series are Jamaica’s public communications professionals — the journalists, editors, public affairs officers and content creators who tell the government’s story to citizens and the media. The six-grade series spans Pay Bands 4–10, with junior officers producing content and senior officers leading communications strategies for entire ministries.
