What is an Accounting Technician in Jamaica’s Civil Service?
Accounting Technicians (FMG/AT) occupy the technical middle tier of government accounting. They process transactions, maintain ledgers, prepare reconciliations and support the preparation of financial statements under the supervision of Government Accountants. The three-grade series (AT 1-AT 3) spans Pay Bands 4-5 and is a common entry point for those with accounting qualifications working toward ACCA or CPA.
